come on, aren’t you a little surprised to hear from me today?  after all, it’s our anniversary and i need to pack for our trip to chicago to celebrate ABN’s birthday.  but how could i miss such a special day – and that’s why the geniuses who run the internet (or whatever) created the ability for me to save a post and have it update at a pre-scheduled time.  it’s my first try so bare with me.  i love technology!

rather than walk you through a play by play of the last two years of my life, i leave you with this reflection:

I’VE LEARNED:  ABN really can eat a turkey sandwich for lunch every day and not get bored;  i sleep better when sleeping on ABN’s left shoulder;,  hiking isn’t so bad (it should be a longer hike than just an hour because i’m usually fairly cranky for the first bit – but after that i’m good to go, especially when ice cream is involved); to talk about what is frustrating me – otherwise ABN will just tap my shoulder until i speak – which only frustrates me further; a small piece of the darkest chocolate is sometimes all it takes; thanksgiving can be a 5 day holiday; car shopping is stressful; i do like dates (the dried fruit variety); i don’t like beets

I’VE LAUGHED: every time ABN calls me his little kichella; when ABN insists that his striped orange shirt is pink; when ABN attempts to do the laundry – we each have our jobs and laundry isn’t his; when ABN tries to work the TV – he might be a genius but he hasn’t quite mastered the remote; when ABN cleans up before the cleaning lady comes; at ABN’s understanding of reality TV; when ABN makes up scrabble words;

I’VE LOVED: that ABN has learned the ins and outs of how to manage a trip to LA (and cares as much about the necessary food stops as i do); when ABN turns on britney full blast because he appreciates my need for the occasional britney dance party; spending countless saturday nights sipping red wine on our back porch; cooking and baking (while ABN meticulously double and triple checks the recipe in our big kitchen; exploring san francisco, hosting holiday gatherings; spending so much time together – just the two of us

happy anniversary – to our CURLY friend too, after all, we were all under that chuppah!

just to be completely honest, there is another reason today is a big day – the WHOLE FOODS has opened in noe!  its as if they knew!  the entire neighborhood is celebrating! okay, that’s sort of a lie.  while there are people celebrating, there are also plenty of people protesting – i guess the store takes away from the small town feel.  but man, this is going to make my life that much better!  happy anniversary to me indeed!
