I'm Just Saying…

From Yoga in the Morning, to Pure Trash at Night

May18

i set my alarm for 6am to get up and do yoga – and i actually got up.  i’ll wait while you acknowledge my accomplishment.  i was/am really proud of myself.  don’t get confused – i’m not turning into some kind of fitness nut (because…no) but i just think it could be a great habit for me to get into – a relaxing and reflective way to start my day.  on friday at work, or should i say, the place i spend my weekdays between the hours of 8:30am and 6:45pm, i took part in staff yoga.  it was not the best workout of my life but i felt like my mind had a chance to catch up with my body – and one hour – i slowed down.  clearly i also loved that the camp art specialist, who led the session, connected our class to the upcoming holiday of SHAVUOT.  as i bent and twisted he talked about revelation and how the yoga practice was meant as an opportunity to open ourselves up in order to receive whatever was coming our way – nice, right?  so this morning i was ready to continue receiving and while it wasn’t exactly what i was looking for (a bit too advanced for me), it felt like a good way to start my day – followed by coffee and the TODAY SHOW.   i’ll try another class (read: whatever comcast has to offer) tomorrow.

now that i’m home i just caught up on my favorite guilty pleasure – THE VIEW (usually just the first 15 minutes, i swear).  anyway, this weird thing happened where the sound cut out at about the 10 minute mark and since it was just background noise to begin with, i didn’t so much notice, and let it continue to play.  when the sound did come back on, this large man, with a mostly bald head framed with stringy long hair had joined the table (what?).  it took me a while to figure out it was JESSE VENTURA.  apparently he’s living in baja and has a new goal of becoming a professional surfer.  the world is so strange.

and now, if you’ll excuse me, its time jump, head first into THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY.  we all have our priorities.
