Sobering Up
April30
okay this is the third time i’m attempting to write this – i’m clearly out of practice…
first, thank you for checking back in. i know i’ve been out of touch..it’s been a week which makes me a bad blogger. not only have i been quiet, but i missed yet another WTF WEDNESDAY – anyone up for a WTF FRIDAY?!?
its time to get down to business…let the bullets fly:
- napa was FANTASTIC. my mom rented a to die for house. when we were home we kept the doors open and the breeze just flowed right through. lots of drinking, lots of eating, lots of napa-ing (you know, napping while in napa). who could ask for anything more? my favorite part was chillaxing on the patio outback, smack dab in the middle of my very own vineyard. turns out, i desperately need my own personal vineyard (that i have no responsibility for). anyone want to move out there and invite me over?
- taking two days off work was – stressful. turns out planning a summer for 1500 kids takes a lot of work. and 6 weeks out, i’m feeling…it. my main current project is juggling a schedule that includes one swimming pool (which is apparently only available on fridays), one rooftop playground (but not if its cold or raining) and a number of neighborhood parks (on a rotating basis). luckily i’ve got a support staff that is taking care of things i don’t yet understand – financial aide, transportation and the dreaded lice…i don’t have to worry about those things until next year. oh my god, next year!
- wanna know what’s worse than FACEBOOK being blocked at work? when FACEBOOK isn’t blocked but the connection is so slow that pages can’t load – frustrating
- in an effort to not turn into a whale and also get as much sleep as and also not be at work until 9pm, i’ve changed up my workout routine. today was day one of attempting to hit the gym at lunch. since i’m at my desk by 8:15 and i don’t leave until after 6, i’m pretty sure a quick 45 minute run won’t hurt anyone (except maybe my knee – but we’ll deal with that later)
- speaking of BRITNEY (because i’m always speaking of BRITNEY), i feel like i’m the only person who didn’t get to go to her show. deep down i think i thought ABN would surprise me with tickets – but when i confessed this fantasy he responded – not so much.
- while in napa ABN and i joined a new wine club – the WINE GARAGE. basically its this wine store that carries 250 different bottles, all from different, small vineyards that don’t mass distribute. all the bottles of $25 or less. 6 times a year we get 6 bottles. sounds like a little piece of heaven – don’t you think?
alright, now you’re a bit more up to date. and to make up for my lack of contact – i’ll leave you with is…captured by ABN, after maybe a glass of wine, or two:

Thank you
