I'm Just Saying…

That’s Not My Name…

March31

in moments i’m hoping to leave work, pick up BEX and head to bookclub but in the meantime….

i think i’ve come up with the theme for camp.  thank you RACHEL for confirming my initial plan and then you know, it took a two hour manager meeting where, instead of actually poking out my eyes i came up with a game plan (and, i think, a name).  i basically have planned the entire summer – i’m not going lie.  and i think it rocks.  i’m keeping it under wraps for now because you still have 24 hours to enter the give away AND because i want to think about it a bit more…and you know, maybe fill my boss in.  but i think she trusts me.  after all, i’m the camp director.

you might wonder exactly what we were discussing in our two hour long meeting – jewish holidays…again.  i don’t remember if i mentioned that last week we went through the jewish calendar – discussing when you can and can’t run a program – but we did.  and i was shocked that basically no one knew anything.  i might not know how to balance a budget (don’t tell) but i sure know how much time you need to wait between eating meat and milk.  anyway, today we did basically the same thing but with a larger group which translated into a longer meeting.  i think the point was to discuss holiday programming – the week before i started, the they did purim in a big way (cross program areas) and the program staff is looking to find another opportunity during the year to expand.  chanukah was up for the debate but i think chanukah is the easy (and predictable and not so jewish) way out so i suggested and supported the idea of programming around sukkot.  its in fall and it’s a happy time and you get to be outside and eat – which are easy ways to program and things that people in san francisco love.  guess which holiday they choose?  guess who is now on the planning committee?  guess who’s partner is turning 30 the weekend smack dab in the middle of sukkot?

next time, please remind me to keep my big mouth shut!

the only thing that seems to be distracting me from work…is this

and you’re welcome.
