I'm Just Saying…

When I Run Out of Vampires for Distraction

January27

after my exciting (i also got a job interview) and totally stuffy day yesterday, i think i slept a total of 10 minutes last night. not the ideal setup for my red-eye tonight – or getting over my cold – or for the energy i anticipate needing for the next few days. i’ve never been so good at the power nap but i might need to rethink my priorities.

i can’t even blame my lack of sleep on vampires (not the dream kind – the truly fictional kind, yep i jumped on THAT band wagon…so embarrassing) as i finished my book yesterday afternoon and now have to sit on my hands while i wait for the second installment to become available at the library (because adding it to my permanent collection would be admitting defeat). i also thought i had given myself enough time for a quick netflix turnaround before my cross country trip (a little NIP/TUCK makes the flight so much more bearable) but it seems that my mail is being delivered a lot earlier in the day than i am used too and since it wasn’t picked up until 1pm yesterday i’m thinking there is no chance that it’s going to show up by 11am today (MAILMAN, prove me wrong!).

i have an inappropriate anxiety related to weather (i blame my mother) and this seems to have only increased since my move to the more temperate climate. i think the old LBN would have doubted the weatherman’s warnings and gone about life until getting surprisingly snowed in only to shuffle down a snow-packed commonwealth avenue to procure some much needed milk. but the LBN of today, WEST COAST LBN as it were, seems to be shaking in her boots, so to speak. 9 inches on wednesday?! really?? will my plane be able to land? what shoes are appropriate for such weather? will my friends be able to meet me for our scheduled dates (all revolving around necessary boston food)?

it’s no wonder i didn’t sleep – girl’s got a lot on her mind.

Oh god, not that! Before you dive any deeper into this lunacy you should watch this:

Also, have you ever tried writing teen-fantasy-fiction-stuff? Y’know there’s a lotta money in it.
